Diana Woolrich, a professor with the Department of Graphic Design of the Roberto Garza Sada Center, teaches the courses Design Strategies Studio, Professional Design Studio, Introduction to Font Design, Typographic Systems, Professional Design Portfolio, and Interdisciplinary Design Solutions. She is also a Final Evaluation Projects advisor.
In addition to these areas, she has taught courses on printing and prepress systems, editorial design, and 2D and 3D design, to name a few. She gives workshops and talks on different fields related to her professional development.
Her work at the university focuses on promoting inter-discipline through projects carried out in her courses and keeping constantly up-to-date through courses or workshops in order to enrich them.
Before having a position as a tenured professor, she worked as an adjunct professor at UDEM and other universities in the city of Monterrey. Concurrently, for five years she worked at MenosUnoCeroUno, an advertising agency ranked as one of the most progressive and a seedbed for talent in the city of Monterrey. There, she worked as a graphic designer and subsequently as an account executive, a coordinator for Doméstica®, the agency’s publishing house, and finally as a Brand Builder, managing the brand development strategies and creative team. This included image redesigns for Banco Afirme / Grupo Villacero, and Grupo Milenio, strategies and activations for Cerveza Sol, Multimedios, Heineken | Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, Femsa, etc. To date, she has participated in the creation, implementation and development of more than 35 brands.
Her freelance work as a Brand Builder and a professor has resulted in various awards and publications over the last few years, granted by institutions such as a! Diseño, Quórum, HOW, Print Magazine, AD Architectural Digest, and others.
Independently, she works as a consultant on graphic strategies applicable to brands and as a graphic generator.
