Master of Videogame Art and Design

It trains experts who will be able to design, communicate, develop, and implement real projects with animation and videogame theories, techniques, and new technologies. This master’s degree program has links with Voxel School (Universidad Complutense de Madrid).

Objective

Candidates will be able to develop real projects through the study of new animation and videogame technologies, experimenting with innovative design processes and with solid foundations in terms of the theory, communication, and implementation of the project, including its artistic, technological, social, and business aspects.

A graduate of the Master’s Degree Program in Videogame Art and Design will be able to design, communicate, develop, and implement real projects with animation and videogame theories, techniques, and new technologies.

  • Have a general overview of the new animation and videogame paradigms.

  • Master the new design techniques and technologies in animation and videogames.

  • Have a good command of communication strategies.

  • Understanding business strategies for animation and videogames.

  • Real process and implementation of a videogame project in the industry.

Schedule

This graduate program holds classes from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Courses are face-to-face, mixed-mode, and online, which provides flexibility for participants to continue working while studying.

Admission requirements

Hold an undergraduate degree in an area related to design Graphic Design, Animation, Illustration, Architecture, Interior Design, Computer Technology Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and/or like areas.

Submit Application for Admission to Graduate School with the requested documents.

Pass the Graduate Level Admission Competency Evaluation (ECIP).

Attend an interview with the dean of the graduate programs at the Art, Architecture, and Design Vice Presidency, VIAAD.  Bring résumé, letter of intent, and work portfolio with credentials.

Master’s Degree in Art and Design of Video Games with Recognition of Official Validity of Studies (RVOE) granted by the Ministry of Public Education dated November 30, 2018 according to Agreement 20182131. Effective June, 2018.
