Biography

Leslie Olán graduated from the Master in Industrial Design and Product Innovation program at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, and from the undergraduate degree program in Industrial Design at the Universidad de Monterrey.

At UDEM, she has worked as a professor and directed and coordinated design linkage projects, jointly with companies such as CEMEX, AlEn and the German firm Grameen Creative Lab.

She has also worked in academia at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Monterrey campus, in the area of Industrial Design, working on social projects and artistic inspiration projects with institutions such as MARCO, the Contemporary Art Museum of Monterrey.

Within the industry, she implemented and coordinated a methodology for the generation of concepts in the System to Introduce New Products, creating a patent for the industrial model of an underground transformer, leading the part corresponding to Industrial Design, in an important project for an Extra High-Power transformer at the Prolec GE Center for Applied Technology.  Previously, she designed furniture for various clients in Mexico.

Leslie currently holds the position of director of the Industrial Design and Sustainable Innovation and Energy Engineering undergraduate degree programs, in the Art, Architecture, and Design Division of the Universidad de Monterrey.
