Biography

Sergio Trujillo is a multidisciplinary designer specializing in brand design and typographic design. He holds an undergraduate degree in Information Design from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla, a Master’s degree in Graphic Identity and Branding from the London College of Communication, and a Master’s degree in Typeface Design from the University of Reading.

His design work centers around the anthropological effects of brand design —as illustrated with the Mentiroteca Pública (Public Library of Lies) project, a social experiment in which lies could be shared and assessed from a prejudice free perspective — and the cultural and social impact of typeface design, as it specifically relates to the preservation of writing systems which are in danger of extinction through the development of non-Latin typographic propositions. Other interests include: the strategic value of design, developing computer scripts for the automation of tasks, and knowledge transfer projects.

Before joining the Design Department at the Roberto Garza Sada Center, he taught Graphic Identity and Typography courses at various universities such as the Universidad de las Américas Puebla, the Universidad Anáhuac Puebla, the Center for Cinema and Television Design, and the University of Reading.
