Biography
Marco Vinicio Garrido-Félix holds an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design and a Master of Arts degree with emphasis in Broadcasting from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. In 2007, he was promoted to the Office of Director of the Graphic Design Academic Programs and of the Academic Program in Textile Design and Fashion, in charge of the planning, supervision, and assessment of each program and service to the corresponding students. In 2008 and 2009, he was invited to be an advisor in the second and third exhibition of the international design event Good 50x70. In 2010, he was a member of the jury in the fourth exhibition of that even, which was held in Milan, Italy.
In February 2011, he was selected as a representative of the north-northeast region, a committee of the Mexican Association of Design Schools. In 2011 and 2013, he was invited to be the Dean of the Design Department at UDEM. Since 2011, he has been a member of the Technical Board for the Review of General Evaluation Grades, which is in charge of the technical review of the test areas. Also since 2011, he has been a member of the International Council for Communication Design and he was a panel member of the Icograda Educational Platform Meeting in Hong Kong, China.
He has taught and advised final projects and is in charge of the Internship programs. In 2012 and 2014, he was part of UDEM’s Academic Senate. In 2014, he founded the Satellite CRGS New York, a space for design research and creation. In 2015 and 2016 he participated as a judge in A Design Award & Competition in Italy and the Russian Design Week in Saint Petersburg.
In 2016, he was promoted to Associate Dean of International Art, Architecture, and Design Affairs of the Universidad de Monterrey. In that year, he founded and directed Satellite CRGS Barcelona and Oaxaca. He participated as a judge in the International Visual Identity Awards in London and the Young Ones-One Show in New York. He also became a member of the Advisory Board of the Hoffmitz Milen Center for typography at the ArtCenter College of Design.
